A New Year, Same People

Five days into the new year and just like everyone else I've made my list of resolutions that I'll soon to disregard. I guess its good that people take a moment to realize the mistakes they've made over the past year and set some goals to address those problems now. However in reality, we are still the same people. Just a few days shouldn't make a difference in what we can or cannot accomplish.

The Rule of Names

I'm very fortunate to know the origin of my entire name. Most of the time I take pride in its uniqueness, but there are two things that do annoy me. The first being pronunciation and the second (related) is that on average many people do not remember it. Or if they remember it, they remember some bizarre pronunciation. In my observation (american) people prefer simple names. Something like Jon, Joe or Tim always satisfies.

Demotivation

Do you ever get that feeling that you need a constant reminder that you're in despair? Or that you know there is something pathetic in your life? Well don't worry, Despair, Inc. has just the thing for you: Demotivators. Quote the founder: “Whether you’re a pessimist, underachiever or a chronic failure, I personally offer my unconditional* guarantee that Demotivators? will truly inspire you to new lows!". I'll bet they make great gifts.

Third Grade Recollection

In third grade the students in my class had to participate in a weekly "Show and Tell", which is not uncommon for many elementary schools. There was one Argentine girl (C. W.) in my class who was undebatably the nicest and most decent child in our entire grade. She brought in a small glass ornament to show. I'm not exactly sure if it was a family heirloom, but it was something very unique and important to her parents.

Last Few Days

Well the last few days have been quite interesting. I won't go into detail since the people who should know, already do. Anyways, I've been shocked, surprised, and impressed by certain people. (Props to the mysterious figure at my door - and the accomplice.) ... Of course in other things I've also been confused, frustrated and overwhelmed. Not to fret, I'm feeling good now (a little elated in fact). Work, school, projects, fun, birthdays .
